A good day for Hicks Valley! Soulajule is not the chosen option. Instead, MMWD is moving forward with plans to bring water in from Russian River. Any continuing studies regarding local storage will prioritize studies of spillway gate raises and increased storage at Kent Lake. Today, at this moment, we breathe.

Thank you, everyone for your voices and support.

If Marin Municipal Water District raises Soulajule Dam, this beautiful valley will be under water.

Large scale reservoir building in this location is too expensive and too destructive.

this land and our homes would be destroyed

Nestled behind Marin French Cheese Factory and Lincoln School, Hicks Valley is home to a vibrant agricultural community. It is a hidden land of wide pastures, rolling hills, and dense oak woodlands - home to mountain lions, endangered California red-legged frogs, and a great variety of rare birds including Northern Spotted Owls and Burrowing Owls
